chrysler Newport cont'd

The previous owner had the inside of the trunk sprayed with trunk liner, the equivalent of pickup bed-liner, a tough coating. What appears as surface rust in the photos is actually not, merely discoloration from various stuff sitting and being shlepped around on it.
The white sheet-looking thing in the upper right is an aftermarket liner on top of the sprayed one. Then there were was the stock liner. This was a very concientious little old man.

As you can see, the engine is no where near a show engine. But it is clean, and the whole engine bay is free of the various crap that accumulates over time; no McGyver doo-dads jury-rigged by lazy and/or ingenious owners.
You could camp out in the engine bay, its so huge.
