chrysler Newport cont'd

And this is the extra stuff in the trunk. 4 Stock wheels, great shape, trim and miscellaneous dashboard stuff from another '67 and a random Plymouth, apparently.

Not a bad deal.

The previous owner had the inside of the trunk sprayed with trunk liner, the equivalent of pickup bed-liner, a tough coating. What appears as surface rust in the photos is actually not, merely discoloration from various stuff sitting and being shlepped around on it.
The white sheet-looking thing in the upper right is an aftermarket liner on top of the sprayed one. Then there were was the stock liner. This was a very concientious little old man.

As you can see, the engine is no where near a show engine. But it is clean, and the whole engine bay is free of the various crap that accumulates over time; no McGyver doo-dads jury-rigged by lazy and/or ingenious owners.
You could camp out in the engine bay, its so huge.

These are the bigger Chrysler factory sport wheels on it now, and
here are the stock wheels, also in great shape.

The doors are really, really nice, and the door jambs are near perfect.

1967 Chrysler Newport

This car is straight and beautiful, as the lines show.
It has all the trim, and in fact more in the trunk, along with the original wheels.
The wheels on it now are vintage factory sport wheels

Here are the original wheels, along with some other trim from another 67 newport. Extra skirts, a few badges, and a whole dash cluster.
The interior is really nice, in great condition -- the rear seat is close to perfect, as is the headliner.
The dash is all original and all in wonderful shape. To give you an idea of the care taken with this car, the glove box still springs open and yet doesn't flop down, like a new car.

With the money, I would do two things; glasspacks, and a paintjob.

The car is not perfect; the following are its flaws. The only things wrong with any of the body, anywhere, are two very small dents, right next to each other, above the tunk lid. One is the size of pingpong ball, the other the size of a quarter.
On the front seat, there are three very small tears in the seat back, not difficult to mend.

The previous owner left the car outside for a brief period of time due to lack of space, and the clear coat is peeling. The paint itself is serviceable, if one wanted to just put on a new clear coat, but again, had I the money, I would invest in paint.
All in all, this car is in wonderful original condition, and is just too cool for words. Silly 70's mop hair optional.
